Story
The walk to Cerro La Buitrera begins at Estancia La Lucha, where the Crespo family preserves access to the trail. From the Nirihuau Arriba hamlet, Kela Crespo opens her field for those looking for a medium-difficulty trek, 6 to 10 km, with an ascent of 600 meters granting views of ignimbrites, mushroom figures, and steppe landscapes.
Community commitment
The trekking is combined with condor watching, interpretive walks, and homemade snack service in the family refuge. The family offers snacks, fried cakes, and logistical support during the summer, in addition to maintaining bathrooms and rest areas. Each entry contributes to the conservation of the private trail, funds improvements, and sustains community presence in Nirihuau Arriba.
